Eliminator Recovering From Spectacular 50th Anniversary Party

Last week, the team at Eliminator Boats in Mira Loma, Calif., put together one of the coolest parties of the year in recognition of the company’s 50th anniversary. Yes, 50 years—half a frickin’ century. That’s how long the West Coast custom boat builder has been at it, and thanks to the recent change in leadership and an enthusiastic customer base, the business appears to be ready for another successful 50 years.

While Eliminator isn’t likely to throw a “51st Anniversary Party” in 2020, the principals are sure to consider doing some kind of owners appreciation event considering the amount of positive feedback that was collected following the May 18 event held at Pirate Cove Resort in Needles, Calif.

More than 500 people attended the event, which included a registration party on Friday at Legendz Bar and Grill in Lake Havasu City, Ariz., from 5 p.m. to midnight, and according to Eliminator’s Mark Baker, the company received some great sponsor support for the swag bags that were distributed.

“We had a great turnout and have been receiving lots of positive reviews,” Baker said. “The oldest Eliminator to make the 50th Anniversary Party was Damon La Blue’s 1974 Eliminator Cruiser. It was cool to see Damon and so many of the other longtime Eliminator customers.

“We had a rare 25 offshore V that won Best Bling,” he added. “And there was a 23 Daytona that won Best of Show, and a 1978 Eliminator Spyder Flatbottom—all original—that won Most Original.”

Following a busy six weeks that included the Lake Havasu Boat Show in early April, the Desert Storm Poker Run in late April—where the company unveiled its new outboard-powered 25 Speedster—and last week’s 50th Anniversary Party, the team at Eliminator Boats can finally breathe a little sigh of relief. Notice the word little, as it is time to build on the serious momentum the company has at the moment.
