FB Marine Group Showcases Victory 34 Cat No. 4

Outboard engine-powered catamarans claimed center stage—at least by the participation numbers—during the Offshore At The Ozarks-Cat Edition races in Central Missouri last Friday and Saturday. And that created the perfect opportunity for FB Marine group’s Randy Sweers to showcase a 34-foot Victory model. Victory pleasure cat hull No. 4 in the United States, the boat is owned Brock Vernon, a Texas-based friend and client of Sweers, whose multi-location business is headquartered in South Florida.

It was the first time the vibrant green, carbon-fiber 34-footer powered by twin Mercury Racing 450R outboards had tackled the Lake of the Ozarks.

“I was fortunate to have a chance last weekend to take a few people for a ride in some of the bumpy waters that are notorious at Lake of the Ozarks, and everyone who rode in the boat just could not believe how it handled the rough water for a boat its size,” he said. “The lines on the 34 are stunning and the fit and finish is amazing, but what’s best about this boat is how it runs.

“I had taken my good friend Nate Michel for a ride in the boat, and he’d recently had the opportunity to run some of our competitors’ products,” he continued. “He was just amazed at how the boat ran. It really does run like a much bigger boat.”

The Victory cat impressed several boaters during demo rides on Lake of the Ozarks, according to Sweers.

Sweers and company are putting the final touches on another 34-foot Victory model, which is dressed elegant Nardo Gray hues and powered by Mercury Racing 450R outboard engines. They plan to get the new catamaran on the water later this week.

“People ask me what I like best about the boat and I just tell them that it’s a ‘happy boat,’” Sweers said. “From great fuel economy to strong acceleration and top speed, the 450Rs are a great package on this cat. In everyday boating, we are able to run the boat with five people and plenty of fuel at 125 mph with no problem whatsoever, and cruise at 100 mph while getting two miles per gallon.”

The weekend trip to Missouri delivered an added benefit for Sweers—beating the South Florida heat. The Lake of the Ozarks area stayed in the low-to-mid 60s throughout the weekend.

“Being from Florida, we love cooler temperatures,” he said. “It was great to get out on the lake and do some boating, watch some good racing and hang out with some great friends.”
