Gallagher Departs MTI To Join Invincible Boats

Industry veteran Tim Gallagher informed speedonthewater.com earlier today that he is leaving his job as sales and marketing manager for Marine Technology Inc., in Wentzville, Mo., to join the team at Invincible Boats in Opa-locka, Fla.

Gallagher said he is going to be director of sales at Invincible Boats, which specializes in open center console fishing boats ranging from 33 to 42 feet in length, and have a hand in expanding the company’s dealer network as well as providing input on new product development.

“I’m looking forward to a fresh start with Invincible, but between the people I worked with at MTI and all of the customers we took care of over the years, I’m going to miss the MTI family,” said Gallagher, who, before joining MTI more than six years ago, worked in sales for both Cigarette Racing Team and Deep Impact Custom Boats. “Invincible is a well-respected brand in the hardcore fishing market. The company builds a phenomenal product. I’ve had a chance to drive a few of the boats, including the new 40-foot catamaran, and they are great boats. I see a very bright future with Invincible and I know the product is something I can be proud to sell and deliver just like it was at MTI.”

Gallagher, who admits it’s going to be an adjustment to step away from the high-performance marine industry, said one of the main factors motivating the job change was being at home in South Florida with his family on a daily basis rather than traveling to Missouri and everywhere else around the country to deliver boats and support customers.

“The owner of Invincible, Alex Lipworth, has his company poised for continual growth,” Gallagher said, adding that Invincible builds approximately 80 boats a year and has built close to 800 boats since the company was founded in 2007. “I wasn’t really looking for another job, but when Alex called me to see what I was up to, I heard him out and decided to sit down with his team to see if there was any potential. It turns out we share many of the same goals and visions.”

Gallagher, who has been busy wrapping things up at MTI this week, said he wishes nothing but success for the team he worked alongside for so many years.

“Tim was a huge asset for us—it’s a big loss for sure, but we’ll be fine because he’s helped put us in a good situation,” said Randy Scism, MTI’s owner and founder. “I really can’t say anything bad about Tim. He’s a loyal employee, a good salesman and a great person. We wish him the best.”
