Image of the Week: New DCB M44, Spooled Up II, Hits the Water

Just in time for the DCB Performance Boats 2017 Regatta, which is being held at the Nautical Beachfront Resort in Lake Havasu City, Ariz., today and tomorrow, the team at DCB wrapped up the new M44 Widebody catamaran, Spooled Up II. The proof is in the photo captured by Todd Taylor this morning—this week’s Image of the Week.

Considering how busy the team at DCB is at the moment, we’re appreciative they took the time to share the image today. Thankfully DCB’s Jeff Johnston thought ahead and sent us several detail images of the boat, which is powered by twin Mercury Racing 1550 engines and M8 drives, before it left the El Cajon, Calif., facility for Lake Havasu. You can check out 12 of those pictures in the slideshow below.

Check out the slideshow above for more images of the extremely detailed 44-foot cat.

Surely the boat, which is owned by Washington performance boaters Craig and Kim Hargreaves, who also own the 52-foot MTI Spooled Up with a matching paint job handled by Mark Morris and the team at Visual Imagination in Peculiar, Mo., is going to receive a ton of attention today and tomorrow. Deservedly so. According to Johnston, he’s not sure if the Hargreaves are going to make it to the regatta due to other obligations so their official unveiling might be delayed.

Equipped with all of the high-end goodies from DCB, including a Garmin VIRB front and rear camera system, the latest-and-greatest controls and information displays, and an over-the-top Bluave Marine Audio system, the expertly rigged 44-footer is guaranteed to be front at center at this weekend’s event.

Here’s to a safe and fun run for everyone in town for the DCB Regatta.
