Image Of The Week: The DCB Breakfast Club

So there speedonthewater.com chief photographer Pete Boden was yesterday morning, capturing images in advance of this weekend’s Lake of the Ozarks Shootout top-speed competition in Central Missouri, when eight DCB Performance Boats catamarans happened to roar—in formation no less—under the helicopter carrying him. Boden saw it, shot it and moved on.

Formation photos are all about coordination, planning and execution—and they’re a whole lot more difficult to pull off than they look. Photo Pete Boden copyright Shoot 2 Thrill Pix.

That’s just how it happens, right? You know, a random moment that a true pro recognizes and captures in that moment?

If you believe that, we have a DCB to sell you—and in the interest of full disclosure, we don’t own one.

Getting this Image of the Week took a whole bunch of coordination among the brand-loyal catamaran owners/drivers on their way to The Hatch for breakfast yesterday morning. Jeff Johnston and Tony Chiaramonte, who are in town to support their customers attending the Shootout and Super Cat Fest, planned the event.

But executing an eight-cat formation was on the drivers. And they did an amazing job.

As did Mr. Boden.
