Image Of The Week: Topless In Kentucky

That this weekend’s Kuttawa Cannonball Run pulled in more than 140 registered boats—more than doubling last year’s registered boat total—is an impressive achievement for any event. Some 350 participants came from 18 states to be part of the fourth annual Kentucky happening. Impressive numbers, all.

But as the saying goes, the whole is greater than the sum of its parts. The first organized go-fast boating event to happen since the start of the COVID-19 pandemic and the era of social distancing, the Kuttawa Cannonball Run reminded us all that the go-fast boating world is a true community and that life goes on.

And that people really missed being on the water together.

Stephen Miles, one of the event’s organizers, of Stephen Miles Design described the event as “just a bunch of Americans being Americans.” He could not have said it better.

The 2020 summer boating season is on.
