Image Of The Week: Key West Locals

From his perch on a turn boat during the final contest of the Race World Offshore Key West Championships two weekends ago, speedonthewater.com chief photographer spied a trio of locals running hard toward the turn buoy. Attuned as he is to offshore racing action, Boden didn’t miss the shot and came back with an image of natural-born beauties running in formation.

Between the raceboats and Florida Powerboat Club poker run boats that descended on Key West every year during the first full week of November, it’s easy to forget that the natural environment—not the powerboat hardware or even the Duval Street saloons—is what makes the famed Florida city so wonderful. From dolphins to water colors, Key West truly is a special place.
