Gallery Of The Week: Leigh’s Perspective On MTI’s Florida Keys Takeover

Over the last few years, many speedonthewater.com readers have enjoyed the scenic pictures presented on this site and by other media outlets captured by Lake Havasu City, Ariz.-based photographer Tom Leigh. Whether it’s a catamaran screaming along Lake Havasu or a group of boats charging upriver on the majestic Lake Powell, Leigh’s portfolio of images, which also include a ton of off-road racing stunners thanks to his non-boating-related gigs, have primarily been beautiful representations of recreation, competition and lifestyle in the incredible Southwest desert setting.

This time around though we’re getting a taste of what Leigh can do in a completely different setting—the Florida Keys. The man behind Tommy Gun Images was on hand for the fifth annual MTI Owners Fun Run to the Florida Keys, and we selected 10 excellent images from his trip with the 50 MTI owners registered for the run, which started on Thursday from MTI’s sales and service center located at Haulover Marine Center in North Miami.

Leigh and his good friend, videographer Carter Bahde, enjoyed a few days with the group that spent Thursday night in Key West before heading back up the Keys on Friday for a two-night stay at Hawk’s Cay Resort on Duck Key. And according to Leigh, they had an amazing time capturing the fun and getting to know many of the devoted members of MTI’s extended family.

Check out the slideshow above for more of Leigh’s images from the fun run.

Between Leigh’s first round of edited images from Thursday and Friday as well as a second batch he sent on his return flight for a story coming later this week on speedonthewater.com it was apparent he took full advantage of his first time shooting in the Florida Keys. It likely won’t be his last visit to the Keys either.
