Wozencraft World Tour Photo Gallery No. 8: Scenes From The Lake Cumberland Poker Run

Next to the 30,000-plus roundtrip air miles Devin Wozencraft logged to run his 30-foot Skater Powerboats catamaran at seven events so far this season, next weekend’s 500-mile jaunt from his home base in Southern California to Page, Ariz., for the Lake Powell Challenge will seem like a milk run for the high-performance marine insurance man. But after running his 30-footer in last weekend’s Lake Cumberland Poker Run hosted by State Dock in Kentucky, Wozencraft is ready to finish up with the Lake Powell event and call it a successful season.

With one event left to attend, Devin Wozencraft is almost ready to say goodbye to the 2018 go-fast boating season (click image to enlarge).

Of course, as you can see from his latest photo gallery below, it’s been anything but work, work, work for Wozencraft. In addition to enjoying the waterway and the over-the-top, houseboat party scene last weekend, he spent time with longtime friends including Lake Cumberland local David Southern, who owns an immaculate Skater 388 Platinum Series catamaran, fellow marine industry road warriors Dan Kleitz of Rhode-Island-based Outerlimits Offshore Powerboats, Jeff Johnston and Tony Chiaramonte of Southern California-headquartered DCB Performance Boats, Missouri-based Brett Manire of Performance Boat Center and many others. Notably absent from the Cumberland mix was Wozencraft’s fellow Golden State traveler and partner in crime for much of the season John Caparell, who owns a 32-foot Doug Wright catamaran.

This was Wozencraft’s second trip to the Kentucy waterway this summer. In June, he hit the Lake Cumberland Thunder Run.

With one event left on his season roster, Wozencraft’s 2018 adventure is almost complete. But even with seven happenings under his belt, he’s looking forward to the Lake Powell Challenge, where he’ll be joined—and share a houseboat with—speedonthewater.com co-publisher Jason Johnson.
