Marine Concepts Expands Distribution Network With Castaway Customs

With Castaway Customs Midwest and Southern Coast as its new distributor/representative—servicing the Kentucky Lake, Nashville and Orange Beach areas—Marine Concepts of Kaiser, Mo., has made a major move in expanding its distribution network of precision-made custom powerboat covers. The company also has established a location at Marine Concepts headquarters.

“Castaway Concepts will digitize boats for customers and send those specifications to us so we can manufacturer the covers,” said Randy Kent, the owner and founder of Marine Concepts. “They will sell, install and service them.

“We used to handle all of the digitizing ourselves,” he added. “By teaming up with them, we are covering a huge part of the marketplace.”

Marine Concepts recently struck a similar deal with The Boat Lift Company, which has multiple locations in Texas. “They are going to be exhibiting at a boat show in Houston this weekend,” said Kent, who currently is in Arizona for a Barrett-Jackson auction. “I’m heading there Saturday.”

Kent said he has no current supply chain problems—nor is he expecting any.

“When all of this started, I bought a year’s worth of all the materials we use for our covers—we always order everything we need a year ahead of time,” he explained. “Our warehouse has everything we need.”
