Mercury Marine Hosts COVID-19 Vaccination Day

Employees at Mercury Marine headquarters in Fond du Lac, Wis., had the opportunity to receive their first Moderna COVID-19 vaccine doses last Saturday at the facility. The first-come, first-served vaccination event was open to all Mercury employees by appointment and administered by a third-party vaccination provider.

More than 160 employees received their first doses of the Moderna vaccine. They will receive their second doses at the facility on May 22.

“Our number one priority remains the health and safety of our employees and their families,” said Jim Sutton, Mercury’s director of Occupational Health and Safety, in a press release from the marine propulsion and accessories company. “Although we aren’t requiring employees to get the vaccine, we want to make the opportunity available to them and make it as easy as possible.”

Additional on-site Mercury vaccination events are planned for the near future, depending on vaccine availability, according to the release.

“We are thrilled at the turnout for the COVID-19 vaccine event and thank our employees and volunteers for their effort,” said Andres Gonzalez, Mercury Marine vice president of human resources. “We will continue to offer opportunities for our employees to get vaccinated whether at events on campus or providing them information to get vaccinated away from the office.  Those who attended the event were very thankful for the opportunity and we look forward to welcoming them back for their second shot in four weeks.”
