Nor-Tech To Auction Fine Art For Southwest Florida Charities

Though supporting local charities has been a philanthropic priority for Nor-Tech Hi-Performance Boats of Fort Myers, Fla., for years, the company has pushed even harder this year as part of its 30th anniversary celebration. The high-performance center console, catamaran and V-bottom builder has—as promised by company founders Trond Schou and Nils Johnsen—launched at least one charitable initiative each month.

But for July, Nor-Tech is blending the fine art and performance-boating worlds to benefit the Tommy Bohanon Foundation and Ronald McDonald House of Southwest Florida. Starting July 5 and running throughout the month, the company will help sell off two paintings from anonymous donors via an online auction.

Dubbed Bass Rocks, Gloucester and painted by James Fairman of the Hudson River Valley School of artists, one is a valued at $35,000. The other is a Rembrandt etching titled The Descent From The Cross: Second Plate.” It is valued at $10,000.

“Obviously, the goal here is to raise as much money as possible so we are calling on all of our loyal Nor-Tech family members to participate,” said Henrik Margård, the company’s chief operating officer. “Should they wish to donate money to these wonderful organizations, there will be an opportunity to do that as well in lieu of bidding on any particular piece.”
