At each race, first-place will pay $5,000, second-place will pay $2,500, third-place will pay $1,500, fourth-place will pay $1,000 and fifth place will pay $500.

Stipulations are as follows according to the release:

To qualify for purse money, each Mod V team must compete in all five events and pass technical inspections in accordance with the 2022 class rules. Each race must have at least four teams to qualify for cash purses and there are no “drop races.” At the end of the season, the top three boats in national points order and in good standings with the above prerequisites, will qualify for the top three national championship purse prizes.

“OPA and partners are excited to facilitate these purses in 2022,” wrote Nick Smith, the vice president of the organization, in the release. “With nine races on the schedule, this season is shaping up to be one of the best yet.”
