Outerlimits Completes SV 29 Just In Time For Miami

Though no one involved expected it to take the better part of a year to build, a new Outerlimits Offshore Powerboats SV 29 sportboat received its final touches this week in advance of the Miami International Boat Show, which opens next Wednesday. The Mercury Racing 565 engine-powered 29-footer ordered by Canadian Bob Barnhart will be showcased alongside the second Outerlimits SC 37 catamaran, which is owned by Wisconsin-based performance boater and offshore racer Vinnie Diorio.

Bob Barnhart’s first Outerlimits will be unveiled next week at the Miami International Boat Show—and it’s a looker.

As previously reported on speedonthewater.com, Barnhart ordered the boat in late 2020 and planned to keep it at his waterfront home outside of Toronto. He hoped to have it on the water last summer, but supply chain issues—including a one-year wait for the boat’s windshield—delayed completion, according to Dan Kleitz, the company’s national sales manager.

“It has not even hit the water yet,” Kleitz said. “I will test it when we get back from Miami.

“It’s bad-ass,” he added. “I can’t wait for Bob to see it in person.”

Barnhart plans to attend the event next Friday.

“I can’t wait to see it all dressed up,” he said. “Normally, I like to be involved during the build with periodic plant visits but on this build with border closures I had to trust Dan and the Outerlimits team. And from what I’m told and see, they have done an outstanding job. We had lots of good communication by text and emails over the months—they have been great to work with.”

This new Outerlimits SV 29 will be displayed alongside the company’s second SC 37 catamaran.
