Performance Boat Center Delivers New Wright Performance 360 Cat And More

Despite that its showroom is only open to private appointments in keeping with Centers for Disease Control and Prevention COVID-19 pandemic social distancing guidelines, Performance Boat Center of Osage Beach, Mo., has been doing solid business with its Wright Performance 360 catamaran model. Next week, the company will deliver a new 36-footer powered by Mercury Racing 400R engines to a Lake of Ozarks-area customer.

This brand-new Wright Performance 360 catamaran will be all over the Lake of the Ozarks this season.

The full-service, multi-brand dealership took the owner’s Mercury Racing 400R outboard-powered Wright Performance 360 cat in on a trade, then sold and delivered that boat to its new home in Lake Havasu City, Ariz. And that was one of two pre-owned sport cats with 400R outboards that Performance Boat Center moved last week.

On the more-challenging side, Performance Boat Center’s goal of having Sunsation Boats deliver one 40 CCX (Center Console Xtreme) a month as an inventory boat has hit a speedbump. The Algonac, Mich., boat-builder currently is closed under mandates in Michigan.

“That is cramping our style a bit,” said Brett Manire, who co-owns Performance Boat Center with Mark Waddington. “But we do have a new 32 CCX on our showroom floor.

“People are boating here,” he continued. “Last Saturday was like a regular busy weekend day on the lake—there were so many people on the water. The service guys are pulling their hair out with all the work they have to do. Everyone wants their boats. We have a huge lake and there are lots of places to go and anchor.”

Though waterfront restaurant dining rooms remain closed under novel coronavirus restrictions, many are—such as Performance Boat Center’s own Redhead Lakeside Grill—are still filling to go orders. The restaurant even offers dock-side service, as well as curb-side service for customers who visit the venue by car.Performance Boat Center delivered this pre-owned 36-footer last week to customers in Arizona.

“The dock-side service element has been a little tricky to manage, but we’re doing it,” said Manire. “I know people are really looking forward to being able to pull up to the dock, get out of their boats and come inside for a meal and a cold drink.”
