Photo Essay: Sixteen Sweet Shots From The Exotic Run In Michigan

Despite moving into a new facility in the spring and working pretty much nonstop with his much-prettier better half on his successful business—ExoticMotive-Detailing in Traverse City, Mich.—Rudy Torres managed to organize the Exotic Run for a third-straight year to rave reviews from the participants.

“The Exotic Run is such a fun event,” exclaimed Vicki Franks following the the late-August gathering in Saddle Up, her and her husband Shane’s stunning 42-foot V-bottom from Statement Marine. “It’s always a great time meeting new and old friends.”

With more than 60 boats on hand for fun run on Traverse Bay in Northern Michigan, Torres was beyond pleased that the 200-plus people in attendance had a great and safe day on the water.

Like he was last year, Torres was blown away by the variety of boats on hand for the fun run. Along with a large group of offshore V-bottoms from Donzi Marine, Fountain Powerboats, Hustler Powerboats, Nor-Tech Hi-Performance Boats, Outerlimits Offshore Powerboats and more, there were several center consoles in the mix as well as catamarans from Eliminator Boats, Skater Powerboats, Spectre Powerboats, Nor-Tech and other manufacturers.

Torres, who thanked American Custom Marine in Kimball, Mich., for sponsoring the event shirts, also was happy with how everything went at Clinch Marina, where he reserved 60 slips for event participants, and he’s looking forward to hosting the free-to-enter Exotic Run again next year.

“We couldn’t ask for a better day for boating,” said Tommy McDonald of Epic Powersports in Traverse City. “Thanks to Rudy and Jen for putting the event together.”
