Shewbart Debuts Disturbing the Peace XXX Outerlimits at Tickfaw 200 Poker Run

For Texas performance boater Cass Shewbart, this year’s Tickfaw 200 Poker Run in Blood River Landing in Springfield, La., was extra special as he brought his “new” canopied Outerlimits Offshore Powerboats 47 GTX to the event. The iconic XXX Outerlimits, which Shewbart is calling XXX: Disturbing the Peace, features new graphics, several updates in the cockpit and full overhaul of the rigging, engines, drives and transmissions.

Shewbart, who also owns a Cigarette Racing Team 38 Top Gun dubbed Liquid Prozac, picked up the boat last fall and turned it over David Whalen and the team at Gulf Coast Complete Marine Service in Kemah, Texas, to handle the rigging and drive/transmission rebuild. He also had Owens Racing Engines in Pearland, Texas, rebuild the 632-cubic-inch Chief Performance engines that feature quad-rotor Whipple superchargers, and Precision Marine’s Mark Boos teamed up with Ben Wiersum of Chief to tune them at Boos’ shop in Louisiana. The monster motors make 1,350 hp on pump gas and 1550 hp on race gas, according to Shewbart.

“So far so good,” Shewbart said on Saturday morning before heading out for day two of the 200-mile poker run. “The water and wind was ‘crappy’ yesterday so we couldn’t really run the boat too hard. Today we’re going to Madisonville.”

Overall Shewbart seems real pleased with his new ride, which includes new Seadek flooring and a new Wet Sounds stereo system and cockpit and engine compartment lighting installed by Legend Marine Audio in Kemah, Texas.
