Snowy Mountain Brewery Team Sponsoring Snowmobile Poker Run

Fresh off his Superboat Vee world championship in Key West, Fla., Michael “Doc” Janssen is already focused on his wintertime passion—snowmobiling—and he’s inviting his fellow performance boaters to join him for a different type of poker run in February.

On Sunday, the Snowy Mountain Brewery team (from left: Brian Forehand, Mark Tuck, Michael Janssen and Dan Davies)—celebrated its third-straight Superboat Vee world championship in Key West, Fla., after winning all three races in its 29-foot Outerlimits.

In an email this morning, Janssen expressed his excitement for the sixth annual Snowy Range Snowmobile Poker Run in Wyoming on Saturday, Feb. 7. Janssen announced that the Snowy Mountain Brewery offshore racing team is once again sponsoring the event, which benefits Upper Platte Valley Search & Rescue.

He also said that if you’re into snowmobiling—or have ever wanted to try it—you need to ride in the Snowy Range since there are endless opportunities for the novice to the advanced rider along hundreds of miles of trail system.

“For those who wish to enjoy a good day of riding, there is a total of 315 miles of trails, 201 of which are groomed,” Janssen said. “These trails lead to some of the most scenic areas of the mountains, so you can fully enjoy the open meadows and jagged peaks that make up this mountain range. I always tell people that at 32 degrees, water turns to freedom.”

With elevation ranging from 7,000 to 11,000 feet, the average snowfall in the range is approximately 25 feet. The poker run route runs from Wyoming’s Ryan Park to Albany and back with the final stop at the Saratoga Resort and Spa for music, food and prizes.

“And great craft beer,” added the back-to-back-to-back world champion.
