Year In Review Sneak Peek: Nor-Tech 460 Flyer No. 3 Opens Up

Photos taken at boat shows never do justice to the boats displayed at the docks. That’s why we’ve organized early Friday morning photo shoots of the latest high-performance offerings in action for the past five years at the Miami International Boat Show. As it happened, that was the only task made easier for us when the show moved to its now-former Virginia Key location.

That sort of photo session wasn’t possible at the 2021 Fort Lauderdale Boat Show, where most everything in the high-performance exhibits was dock-locked. But thanks to Henrik Margård and Geoff Tomlinson of Nor-Tech Hi-Performance Boats and their smart phone cameras, we spied one beauty—an open-bow 46 Flyer—we knew we wanted speedonthewater.com chief photographer Pete Boden to capture last month during our annual Key West, Fla., for the 2021 Speed On The Water Year In Review issue.

And as you can see from the image above, it turned out to be well worth the effort.

The fourth 46-footer powered by quad Mercury Racing 450R outboard engines delivered by the Fort Myers, Fla.-headquartered company also happens to be the high-performance center console, V-bottom sportboat and catamaran builder’s first with an open bow. Unlike the previous three builds, it was not outfitted with a power-retractable hardtop.

But that doesn’t make it any less of a stunner.
