DCB Going Big Again At Super Cat Fest

For the past several years, DCB Performance Boats has had the largest presence of any custom catamaran manufacturer at Super Cat Fest at the Lake of the Ozarks in Central Missouri. And with nine boats slated to be at the Camden On The Lake Resort docks August 24-25, that won’t change this year for the El Cajon, Calif., company, which is a longtime backer of the event.

“We usually have seven to nine boats at Super Cat Fest,” said Jeff Johnston, the president of DCB. “It’s a great showcase, our customers love it and we love to support them.”

Here’s a quick at the DCB line-up for next weekend’s 10th annual happening:

•M44—Bananas XL, powered by Mercury Racing 1550/1350 engines owned by Dave of Buffie Megugorac, Camarillo, Calif.

•M35—Twin Ladies, powered by Mercury Racing 1100 engines and owned by Stephen and Kelly Marino of Auburn, Ala.

•M35—Busted Knuckles, powered by Mercury Racing 1100 engines and owned by Greg and Heather Scheller of Lexington, Ky.

•M35—Owned by Chad Haven and Krissy Reese of Orangefield, Texas.

•M35—Top Secret, powered by Mercury Racing 1550/1350 engines and owned by Shawn and Stacy Gibson of Broken Bow, Okla.

•M33R—Whacked Out, powered by Mercury Racing 400R outboard engines and owned by Brad and Patty Benson of Lake Havasu City, Ariz.

•M31—Powered by Mercury 700 SCi engines and owned by Mauricio and Angie Vivanco of Downey, Calif.

•M31—Captain Hook, powered by Pro Marine 1300 engines and owned by Steve Sundling of Mission Hills, Calif.

•F32—Today’s Special, powered by Mercury Racing 700 SCI engines with Stage IIII Whipple supercharger kits and owned by Grant Bernardy of Eden Prairie, Minn.

Johnston said a few of DCB catamarans at Super Cat Fest also will compete in the concurrent Lake of the Ozarks Shootout, and most likely will be run by their owners as opposed to DCB owners-group member Tony Chiaramonte, an accomplished and familiar face in Shootout circles.

“They are planning on running their boats themselves for the experience,” he said.
