Advantage Sees Uptick in 34 Party Cat Sales

To say things have been slow at Advantage Boats in Lake Havasu City, Ariz., the last several years would be an understatement. Fortunately for the West Coast custom boat builder, the company’s X-Flight models have kept the doors open.

Advantage Boats recently delivered this fully loaded 34 Party Cat with twin 1,025-hp engines.

But according to Bob Sepulveda, Advantage’s longtime sales manager, the company is seeing a resurgence in its popular 34 Party Cat twin-engine deck boat model. Last week Advantage delivered a new 34-footer with a pair of Teague Custom Marine 985EFI engines and the customer couldn’t be happier with the red deck boat that is expected top out near 130 mph.

“The boat is awesome,” said Bob Teague, owner of Teague Custom Marine. “It’s already been faster than 120 mph and it still needs to be dialed in some, but they’re getting close. It’s definitely a hot rod.”

Sepulveda, who said it had been about five years since Advantage built a 34-footer, sounded excited about the possibility of putting a few more 34 Party Cats on the water, especially with some of the more modern power packages available today.

“All of the sudden we’ve had a nice little surge in orders, on the 34 Party Cats in particular,” Sepulveda said. “It’s been pretty exciting around here. We’ve had quite a few repeat buyers, including the customer who owns a home on the river in Parker (Ariz.) and just took delivery of the red 34 with the Teague engines. Featuring the best of the best in terms of hardware, stereo equipment and more, the rigging on the boat is easily some of the most outstanding we’ve done. I’m serious when I say this boat is over the top.”

Sepulveda added that Advantage currently has two more 34 Party Cats in production. Once finished, the first deck boat, which is powered by twin Mercury Racing 540 engines, is going to be delivered to a Canadian customer and the other one with a pair Mercury Racing 520 engines (and a Los Angeles Lakers theme) is going to a Southern California performance boater.
