During the Miami International Boat Show next week, BBlades Professional Propellers of Princeton, Wis., will debut its new line of outboard propellers called the Bravo OB/F series for high-horsepower two-stroke and four-stroke outboard engines. Designed for outboards from 150 to 350 hp, the 14-3/4-inch diameter four-blade stainless steel wheels are available—in 2-inch increments—in pitch sizes from 22 to 36 inches. They are available in right- and left-hand rotation.

The Bravo OB/F propellers feature 7/8-inch tunable exhaust vents—as opposed to the 1-inch non-tunable vents and 5/8-inch tunable vents on competitive offerings—with plugs that allow boaters to custom-ventilate the props for their specific boats and applications.

“For a boating application that requires aggressive ventilation, the OB/F (propellers) have a massive tuning capacity,” said Brett Anderson, the president of BBlades,. “This new prop offers up to 3-1/2 inches of ventilation, which allows the boater to control the aeration around the propeller. The overall design is to optimize both hole-shot and top-end.

“This propeller will work on any outboard application from bass boats to 30-plus-foot center consoles,” he continued. “The reduced diameter and added rake angle with the tuned exhaust ring and tunable vent holes makes it a very versatile performer. We have to take each application and determine its potential. The one prerequisite is you need decent power. While 150 hp is the minimum, the prop is really best suited on 225- to 350-hp outboards.”

Each prop is polished to a high-gloss finish after it is set up for its intended application. Price is $797. Lab-finishing also is offered by BBlades for the Bravo OB/F series propellers.
