Big Sunsation News Coming at Miami Show

Not only will Sunsation Powerboats be showcasing a pair of center consoles and a new sportboat inside the Miami Beach Convention Center at next month’s Miami International Boat Show, the Algonac, Mich., company will be showing off a couple of future product offerings that should attract just as much attention as the full-size models on the show floor.

Sunsation’s latest 28-foot sportboat will be show ready before next month’s Miami International Boat Show.

The middle sibling between the company’s 34 CCX and 29 CCX—the currently in production 32 CCX—won’t be news to most attendees, but according to Sunsation’s Joe Schaldenbrand, the concept drawings of the boat are worth a closer look.

Then there’s the “big” news, which Schaldenbrand said is going to be unveiled at the show during Thursday’s Premier Day. Of course Schaldenbrand can’t wait to show off the new model rendering as well as the progress on the 32 CCX, but he’s just as excited to showcase the 34 CCX, which is powered by three Mercury Verado 300 engines, the twin Verado-250-powered 29 CCX and the 28 SSR featuring a 430-hp MerCruiser 8.2 Mag HO engine and a mid-cabin open-bow configuration.

“We’re excited to be bringing a sportboat to the show this year—it’s been a while,” said Schaldenbrand, who spent the past two years at the in-water portion of the show letting potential customers try the then-new 34 CCX and 29 CCX models. “We’re expecting a lot of chatter from our display this year. We’re glad to be back at the convention center—it’s going to be nice to be inside, too.”
