Chattanooga River Run Opens Registration

With 75 slots up for grabs, the Chattanooga River Run July 31-August 1 opened registration today. As previously reported on speedonthewater.com, the Tennessee Powerboat Club-backed event has replaced the Old Hickory Fun Run, Raft Up and Bar Crawl event outside Nashville.

Well known in performance-boating circles, the Volunteer State’s Justin Lucas, Mark Godsey, Chad Collier and Gerald Brown are organizing the event, which recently updated its Facebook events page. Lucas said they are limiting registration to 75 boats to “ensure we can take care of all of our participants” and that the organizers have, as in years past—worked well together.

“I think it’s going to be a blast,” said Lucas, who co-organized the Old Hickory event for years with Collier. “I always like changing things up—keeps it new and exciting. Downtown Chattanooga and its nightlife are really a good time.

“Nashville is so crowded these days,” he added, then laughed. “I prefer to stay away from it anyway.”

The Chattanooga River Run website and Facebook page will be updated as additional details are finalized.
