To unveil its new 399 Cabin model, Deep Impact Boats recently hosted a private reception at its showroom in Miami complete with drinks, hors d’oeuvres and a special ceremony to remove the cover from the latest 39-footer in the lineup, which ranges from 33 feet to 39 feet—although a 42-footer is in the beginning stages.

Also on display in the company’s facility were a 399 Open and a 360 Cabin, along with informational displays from some of the suppliers Deep Impact works closely with such as BoganTec Marine USA, a company that provided the quality flooring and decking on the new 399, as well as JL Audio and Garmin.

“We went all the way with the event—and the boat,” said Randy Truesdale, who began working with Deep Impact as its sales and technology consultant in May. “This is the biggest, baddest boat we’ve made so far, so it made sense to do a special unveiling for it to show people what we’re doing and what our capabilities are in house.”

Powered by four Mercury Verado 350 engines, the gunmetal gray and black center console, which reportedly runs faster than 80 mph, has additional finishing touches beyond the company’s other 39-foot Open model, which debuted for the 2012 model year. Along with an extended T-top and sizable bow rails up front that complement the lines of the boat, the model’s sizable cabin is the selling point.

Inside Deep Impact’s nicely finished cabin is a pair of lounges, a flatscreen TV, a freshwater sink, a microwave, a cooktop, a refrigerator and more. The addition of the cabin allowed the builder to add some unique rectangular windows on the port and starboard side, which appear to give the boat eyes.

According to Truesdale, who has a technology background and is hoping to develop specific tools to fine tune Deep Impact’s sales, marketing and production processes, the company sold three of the new 39-footers that evening—hull numbers three, four and five.

“We have something for everybody—that is one of the keys to our success,” said Truesdale, who added that nearly 100 people attended the unveiling party. “From engine selection, color choices, the overall look and feel, and fishing or cabin options, the ability to personalize our boats is a major reason our customers keep coming back and we’re attracting new clients.”
