Elite Poker Runs Seeking Sponsors For 2020 Events

Founded five years ago by Anthony Scioli of Buffalo, N.Y., Elite Poker Runs LLC will return to producing poker runs in 2020—if it has sponsorship backing for all five of its planned events. To that end, Scioli has opened sponsor registration for the proposed events from June through October on his 2020 schedule.

Those events are:

Erie Poker Run, Erie, Pa. (June)
Mentor Poker Run, Mentor, Ohio (July)
Ray Nuchereno Memorial Poker Run, Buffalo (August)
Joe Sgro Memorial Poker Run, Jersey City, N.J. (September)
Grand Island Poker Run, Grand Island, N.Y. (October)

Scioli has not announced specific dates for his poker runs and doesn’t plan to until he secures sponsors for each event.

“Sponsorships are everything in this business,” he said. “If the sponsorships make sense, I’ll produce events. If they don’t, I won’t it. It’s simple math. You need sponsors to make events great, and I really want to go over the top with my events in 2020. To that end, we’ve added multiple sponsorship levels and enhanced our sponsorship packages.

“I am waiting until the end of the year to see what our sponsorship levels are before I decide to move forward and release specific dates,” he continued. “If any event doesn’t reach required sponsor levels and is cancelled, all sponsors who supported it will get a full refund January 1.”
