Lamination on the latest model from Outerlimits, a single-engine 29-foot V-bottom called the SV29, should begin next week, according to Mike Fiore, the principal of the Bristol, R.I.,  custom high-performance powerboat company.

“We’re just waiting on the gelcoat,” said Fiore. “We should have the first one finished in January.”

Fiore said that at present he has four orders for the 29-footer, the prototype for which reportedly topped 90 mph on a single Mercury Racing 525EFI engine. The first model will be equipped with the popular 525-hp propulsion package.

“We have one ordered with a 600-hp engine, another ordered with a 700-hp engine and third one where the customer is supplying the power,” said Fiore.

The SV29 will make its official public debut at the 2012 Miami International Boat Show Feb. 16-20
