Formula Boats Bringing a Full House to Miami

Even though it’s one of more than two dozen shows where Formula Boats will have models on display between the beginning of the year and the end of March (see for yourself here), the Miami International Boat Show is arguably the most important one to the Decatur, Ind., company that has been in business since 1956.

Complete with a redesigned cockpit, Formula’s latest 310 Bowrider will be on display in Miami next month.

So it makes sense that Formula would expand its footprint in the Miami Beach Convention Center and showcase more models than past years at next month’s show (Feb. 12-16). With 13 boats from 27 feet to 45 feet scheduled to be on display, Formula is expecting its wide-ranging lineup will appeal to many potential customers.

“Historically Miami has always been a good show,” said Formula Boats President Scott Porter. “Miami is just a great place to visit and it’s a nice time of year to escape the cold weather for all of our friends up north. The show also has become quite an international destination. From Canadians to Europeans to South Americans, it’s a global show, that’s for sure.”

Between the convention center and the on-water part of the show at Sea Isle Marina, Formula is planning to have the following boats on display—a 270, a 290 and a 310 Bowrider, a 34, a 37 and a 40 Performance Cruiser, a 330 and a 350 Crossover Bowrider, a 350 Sun Sport, a 353 FASTech, a 370 and a 400 Super Sport, and a 45 Yacht.

According to Porter, Formula’s FX-styled 400 Super Sport powered by twin Mercury Racing 520 engines with Bravos Three XR drives will be available for demo rides. The company’s 37 and 40 Performance Cruisers and 350 Crossover Bowrider are expected to be in the water as well, along with a Stilleto-graphics-adorned 353 FASTech that also has a pair of 520-hp Mercury engines but with Bravo One XR drives on the sportboat.
