Victory VTX 27 Lights Up The Dubai Boat Show

Visitors to the Dubai International Boat Show, which opened today and runs through March 2, were greeted with homegrown sport catamaran products from the Dubai-based Victory Team. As previously reported on speedonthewater.com, Dubai will begin exporting 27- and 34-foot sport catamarans to the United States—its first dealer is Pompano Beach, Fla.-based FB Marine Group—in the next week or so.

While most of the media attention so far has been devoted to the 34-footer, the twin-outboard-engine-powered VTX 27 holds a prominent place in this week’s Dubai event. And Victory Team import investor Ricky Maldonado, who has partnered with Statement Marine’s Craig Barrie in the project, sent us a few images.

“The show itself is very glamorous—at night it is almost a light show—but it’s also very small,” Maldonado said. “The Victory Team booth is the best by far—they outdid themselves on this one—and the VTX 27 is probably the best-looking boat at the show.”

Also on display—and available for purchase to U.S. buyers—is the Victory Team’s new canopied Pro Cat 27. According to Maldonado’s son and “right-hand man,” Julian, the 27-footer powered by Mercury Racing 300R V-8 outboard engines has reached 118 mph spinning 35-inch propellers “on the rev limiters.”

“With that being said we are expecting well over 120 mph on our VTX 27 open pleasure cat,” he said.

Victory Team also is offering a canopied version of its 27-footer, which was on display with twin 200-hp Mercury engines (click image to enlarge).
