Hull No. 1 for Mystic Center Console in Rigging

With the first hull for its 39-foot-long center console finished in mid-September and the deck tooling complete, Mystic Powerboats of DeLand, Fla., has begun the rigging process for the new model. If all holds to plan, the 39-footer could be ready for its first sea trial next week. That’s the word from Mystic dealer Scott Sjogren, the owner of Pier 57 Marine in Gurnee, Ill.

Four 300-hp Mercury Marine Verado outboard engines will power the stepped-hull 39-footer in testing. However, triple 300-hp Verados will be standard on the “base boat”  when the new model reaches the market. Pier 57 already has orders, reportedly several, for the boat.

“Everything is on track in terms of timing,” said Sjogren. “John (Cosker, the founder and owner of Mystic) has the boat right where it needs to be. The first hull looks beautiful, and I can’t wait to see the deck—it going to have great lines.

“Using the vacuum-infusion process with epoxy and carbon fiber won’t just make for a stronger, lighter boat,” he added. “It will enable Mystic produce the 39-foot center console with excellent consistency from one model to the next.”
