Image Of The Week: DCBs In Paradise

You won’t see a lot creations from Southern California-based DCB Performance Boats in Florida Powerboat Club events. But thanks to Scott James of Greer, S.C., and Jorge Arellano of Ocala, Fla., you will see at least two.

James took delivery of his Mercury Racing 450R outboard engine-powered beauty—the second M33R built—in January and had planned its first poker run to be the Florida Powerboat Club Spring Key West event. But that event landed on the COVID-19 chopping block, so the Emerald Coast affair presented his first FPC poker run opportunity.

In a nod to the distance between his own home and the home of the custom high-performance catamaran builder, Greer dubbed his 33-footer Coast To Coast.

Yet James wasn’t the only DCB owner to represent in the Destin area last weekend. Arellano ran his M29 cat powered by twin Mercury Racing 700SCi engines in the event. (Arellano, who owns a small fleet of go-fast boats, took delivery of a DCB M35 equipped with Mercury Racing 1350s at last year’s Destin happening.)

Jorge Arellano and friends logged a little air time in his sterndrive engine-powered 29-foot DCB catamaran.

West Coast, East Coast, Emerald Coast—no matter where you spy a DCB in action, it’s sure to be looking good.
