SV Racing To Display Outerlimits Raceboat At Super Cat Fest

Thanks to the abundance of offshore racing teams that call the Lake of the Ozarks their home waterway, there’s never a shortage of top-notch raceboats at the annual Lake of the Ozarks Shootout and currently running Super Cat Fest. But this time around, attendees of both events, which run from August 26-30, will have a decidedly out-of-town raceboat to ogle in the form of SV Racing, a 39-foot catamaran from Outerlimits Offshore Powerboats in Bristol, R.I.

Owned by Wisconsin’s Vinnie Diorio and Canadian Simon Prevost, the canopied 39-footer, which is powered by twin 750-plus-hp Factory Billet engines, and its custom tow-rig will be displayed during the Wednesday evening Shootout On The Strip street exhibition sponsored by Waves And Wheels. For the rest of the week, the boat-and-rig combo will be on display in front of the Camden On The Lake Resort, the host venue for Super Cat Fest.

Earlier this year, Diorio and Super Cat Fest lead organizer Alvin Heathman discussed displaying the 39-footer and its accompanying hardware in front of event headquarters. Yet their plan was dashed when the American Power Boat Association Offshore Championship Series race in Cocoa Beach, Fla., was rescheduled from late May to late August as the new dates conflicted with those of Super Cat Fest.

When the organizers of the Cocoa Beach race officially called off the 2020 event in late June, the door opened for SV Racing to display at Super Cat Fest.

“Alvin is a bit of a truck nut and we thought it’d be cool to have a truck and the boat out front,” said Diorio. “We chatted about it for this year, but when Cocoa Beach was  rescheduled from May to August during the Super Cat Fest weekend, we were like, ‘Damn, we can’t.’ When the race cancelled, it worked out.”

Diorio said he will not run the raceboat in the Shootout, but is looking forward to presenting it to a mostly new audience. So, too, is Outerlimits sales manager Dan Kleitz.

“The more Outerlimits the better, especially SV Racing with that bad-ass truck,” he said.
