Image of the Week: Framed At Discovery Bay

Last weekend’s Big Cat Poker Run (read the story) found Dustin Whipple of Whipple Superchargers, his sister, Shonda, and his brother-in-law Mike Fiore of Outerlimits taking to the waters of the Sacramento River Delta in Northern California. Ground zero for the Big Cat event is Discovery Bay, a gracious waterside community with a healthy performance-boat fleet of its own. Still, even among some mighty fine hardware, Whipple’s over-the-top Outerlimits SV 43 bottom managed to stand out.

Next up for Whipple and his stunning 43-footer? The upcoming Lake of the Ozarks Shootout in Missouri this weekend. In fact, Whipple left his home (and workplace) in Fresno, Calif., with the boat in tow this morning. Though he’s not sure if he’ll enter the boat in the liquid-mile, top-speed event, he said he’s looking forward to being there.

“I haven’t decided yet if I’m going to run the Shootout,” Whipple said via text just before he hit the road. “My main plan is just to do the poker run and watch the Shootout, but I may run it.”

Either way, those who catch Whipple’s ride up close on the Missouri waterway are in for a treat.
