Image of the Week: Keys Bound In Caldwell’s 48 MTI

A few weeks back, our Image of the Week featured a stunning new 48-foot MTI catamaran owned by Texas performance boater John Caldwell, who was pictured driving the boat, which is powered by twin Mercury Racing 1350/1100 engines, with MTI owner Randy Scism for speedonthewater.com’s invitational helicopter photo shoot on Friday morning before the Miami International Boat Show opened. The story (read it here) included Caldwell’s thoughts on his new boat named Never Stops a few days before he took it on the MTI Owners Fun Run in the Florida Keys.

As you might guess, based on the beautiful picture above taken by Arizona-based photographer Tom Leigh, Caldwell, who owns J Caldwell Custom Pools in Fort Worth, had a great time running his new boat from Miami to Key West and spending a few days with his extended MTI family. Also as you might guess, Leigh had a blast getting to ride with Caldwell during his first trip to the Florida Keys. For more of Leigh’s images from the event, check out the recap of MTI’s fifth annual Owners Fun Run.

And for even more on Caldwell’s 48-footer that features several MTI firsts, including an updated arrangement to its eight-seat cockpit, a new interior material and even a cool cover access panel, look for the feature on it—and 12 other boats from the Miami show—in the new Speed On The Water digital magazine going live this week.
