Latest Active Thunder 37’ to Debut at Bahamas Poker Run

The latest version of Active Thunder’s 37’ Excess, which rides on a Duo Delta Conic stepped hull created by noted designer Harry Schoell, will get a real-world unveiling during the Florida Powerboat Club’s Bahamas Poker Run July 21-26. The five-day event, which begins in Miami and heads to Bimini for its first stop before moving on to Grand Bahama, will provide a solid showcase for the 37-footer, which will be powered by twin Mercury Racing 600SCi engines and should run more than 90 mph.

While the boat’s proven hull and deck have not been modified, it’s interior—particularly its cabin—has been changed substantially.

“It’s the most deluxe cabin we’ve ever done,” said Patrick Haughey of Active Thunder based in Pompano Beach, Fla. “And the boat has a monster stereo system.”

More detail on the new cabin for the 37’ Excess—including photos—will appear on the speeodnthewater.com later this week.

“Wait until people see this boat,” said Mindi Doller of Doller Offshore, an Active Thunder and Sunsation dealer. “It’s just beautiful.”
