Legend Marine Welcomes Eliminator Boats Back To Texas

Late last year, Eliminator Boats’ Jake Fraleigh announced that Greg Connell and company at Legend Marine Group in Carrollton, Texas, were coming on board as an authorized dealer, and of course the new leader of the Mira Loma, Calif., company was thrilled about the partnership, especially considering that the second largest state in the country was once home to a remarkable amount of Eliminator customers thanks to Mike Tomlinson’s Eliminator Boats of Texas.

Fast forward a few months and Legend Marine Group’s first Eliminator—a 2020 25 Speedster open-bow walk-through catamaran with twin Mercury Racing 300R engines—was delivered just in time for the Dallas Boat Show at the beginning of February. The fully loaded gray, blue and black beauty didn’t last long according to Connell, who sold the boat early in the show and proceeded to order two more 25-footers from Eliminator to go with the 27- and 28-foot Speedster models Legend already had on order.

“The reaction in Dallas was incredible,” Connell said during an interview at the Miami International Boat Show the following week. “People were happy to see Eliminator back at the show. Between the product and Mike (Tomlinson), Eliminator has such as a good name out here. And it really is a great product—I’m definitely impressed with it.”

Connell said he strongly considered adding Eliminator to the Legend Marine Group stable, which also includes Nor-Tech Hi-Performance Boats and Statement Marine, after talking with Mike Tomlinson and his son, Geoff Tomlinson (who now works for Nor-Tech) about Eliminator’s background in and around Texas.

“After getting feedback from Mike and Geoff, I decided to go visit the factory after the company was reorganized and then I waited a little while, went back to visit again and made the decision to start carrying their boats because I was so impressed with the quality of their boats,” Connell explained. “I’m very pleased with the decision and I think the 25 is one of those boats that are needed in the market—something a little smaller than everything else out there.”

Connell said he didn’t get a chance to run the new 25 Speedster before the Dallas show, but that he ran one at the factory and was pleased with how well it performed.

I think it’s one of those that is needed in the market, that 25, it fits into everybody’s plans, I ran the boat at the factory but I haven’t ran the boat since it was delivered in time for the boat show.

“We have Nor-Tech, Statement and now we have Eliminator, so we have three different stair steps of boats for our customers,” Connell added.

Fraleigh said his team is excited to have Legend Marine Group join the Eliminator family.

“We’re looking forward to doing business with Greg and his team, and helping to support their dealership,” Fraleigh said Eliminator. “Their facility is great and they carry a lot of high-end boats, so I have no doubt this is going to be a long-lasting partnership.”
