More Strides For Blackwater And Deep Impact

As of this morning, there are some very happy folks hanging out in the Broward County Convention Center in Fort Lauderdale, Fla., bouncing between adjacent booths—Nos. 2038 and 2042—where new boats in both the Blackwater Boats and Deep Impact Custom Boats lineups are highlighted today through Sunday, Nov. 4 at the 59th annual Fort Lauderdale International Boat Show.

The proud representatives—including Mark Fischer, the owner of the two brands and the Boats Direct USA dealership, Dana McLean, CFO of Boats Direct USA, and Monique Hausheer, the dealership’s energetic marketing guru—have plenty of reasons, eight to be exact, to be optimistic about this week’s boat show.

With four center consoles on display from each manufacturer, Fischer said it was all hands on deck to get the boats ready for Fort Lauderdale, especially the redesigned 36-foot Deep Impact, which has been upgraded from the 360 to the 369, adopting many of the features that were introduced in the revamped 399 Sport.

“With all of the new stuff we have on display this might be the biggest event in the history of our company,” said Fischer, who took over the Deep Impact line four years ago. “The new 369 is like a mini 399. The ride is fantastic and it looks great. It’s something I’ve been wanting to redesign since taking over the company, but we’ve had some other things to get done first.”
