Mystic Powerboats Building Dealer Network

With more than 32 of its M4200 luxury center consoles sold since the model’s introduction almost four years ago and a new M3800 center console released in late 2017, Mystic Powerboats of DeLand, Fla., is building a dealer network.

“Now that we have 38- and a 42-foot center console to offer, it makes sense to create a dealer network,” said John Cosker, the founder and owner of Mystic. “Before, with only one center console to offer, it didn’t make sense to have more than one dealer. And on the dealer side, it didn’t make sense for them to take on a one-boat center console line.”

High-performance marine industry veteran Scott Sjogren, who partnered with Cosker in the development of the company’s M4200 and M3800 center consoles and handled all sales of the center consoles as well as three M4400 catamarans during his relationship with Mystic, has sold his exclusive distribution rights back to Mystic and is moving on to other business ventures.

Cosker and Sjogren launched the first 42-foot Mystic center console model during the 2015 Miami International Boat Show.

“It’s been a great ride, and I wish nothing but success for John, his family and his great team at Mystic,” Sjogren said.

Cosker said he has designed four more V-bottom hulls to expand Mystic’s center console line to six models—larger and smaller than the M4200 and M3800—that will be introduced during the next five years. The company also is retooling its renowned C5000 catamaran so that it can be constructed using the infusion process the company currently uses to build its center consoles and 44-foot cat.

“We have the fastest catamaran in the world,” he said. “It doesn’t make sense not build it. We’re also going to be adding something to fit with today’s outboard-powered sport catamaran market that will be introduced this summer.

“We’re excited about our future at Mystic and we have a fantastic team of very skilled people who love what they build and take great pride in their work,” he added. “The new dealer network will give them the opportunity to build and display their creations for a wider marketplace.”
