NJPPC Expanding Wounded Warrior Boat Ride Day

Building on the success of its powerboat ride day for members of the Wounded Warrior Project during the inaugural Atlantic City Festival of Speed last summer, the New Jersey Performance Powerboat Club is inviting 100 members of the combat-injured veterans organization for rides on Saturday, June 21 during this year’s three-day event. The NJPCC Atlantic City Poker Run on Friday, June 20 and the Atlantic City Offshore Grand Prix Offshore on Sunday, June 22 bookend the Wounded Warrior boat ride day dubbed “Operation: Shore Fun” this year.

Last year, NJPPC club members gave high-performance and center console powerboat rides to 38 participants from the Wounded Warrior group and their families.

“It was so appreciated by the Wounded Warrior veterans and by our club members—and I think we did such a good job with it—that we decided to expand it this year,” said Dave Patnaude, the president of the NJPPC. “So we are looking for boat owners wiling to give rides not just from our membership but from around the local area. We need about 20 boats, not just go-fast boats but center consoles and other boats that can hold more people. There are 400 slip-holders in the marina at the the (host venue) Golden Nugget Hotel and Casino, so I don’t think it will be problem.”
