Outerlimits Fills 2012 Production for SV29

With hull No. 3 for the SV29 in the mold and five orders behind it, Outerlimits reportedly has filled all of its production slots for the single-engine V-bottom this year. The Bristol, R.I., custom boat builder is still taking 2013 production orders for the boat, according to company founder and owner Mike Fiore.

“With the eight orders we’ve taken—all with deposits—this is easily the most successful new-model introduction we’ve ever had by a factor of two,” said Fiore. “In my wildest, pie-in-the-sky dreams I didn’t predict this kind of response.

“Even if this were 2006, 2007, I don’t know if we’d have done any better,” he added.

Fiore said that he also currently has three 52-foot and two 44-foot models in production.

“This place is a mad house—we’re actually running an overtime shift this Sunday,” he said. “I’m happy for the people who work here, and I’m happy to be able report some good news in the high-performance boat world.”

Editor’s Note: An exclusive feature on the SV29 will appear in the summer issue of Sportboat magazine, which will be on newsstands in late May.
