Outerlimits Tapping STR For Outboard Brackets

Starting with the second new Outerlimits Offshore Powerboats SC 37 catamaran, which should be complete in about a month and is going to longtime customer Vinnie Diorio of Wisconsin, outboard engine brackets from Shaun Torrente Racing will be standard equipment for the Mercury Racing 450R outboard-powered 37-footer. The first SC 37 from the Bristol, R.I., custom high-performance powerboat company currently is set up with brackets from another manufacturer for testing purposes.

In Outerlimits, Shaun Torrente Racing has added yet another top-notch high-performance powerboat builder to its client roster.

“They’ll be swapped out for STR brackets once the boat is dialed in completely,” said Dan Kleitz, Outerlimits’ national sales manager.

As previously reported on speedonthewater.com, that build is going to a multi-time Outerlimits owner in Connecticut.

“It’s awesome to have another manufacturer using our products—it’s amazing,” said Torrente, whose company is based near his home in Cape Coral, Fla. “I was really happy with the design I made for them. I think it matches their brand and I was able to integrate the Outerlimits logo. I think they’re going to love them.”

Like Torrente—the reigning two-time defending F1 H2O tunnel-boat world champion and the most recent subject (right) of the Speed On The Water “In The Lead” video series—Diorio is an offshore racer. And he is delighted to have STR products on his newest Outerlimits pleasure boat.

“Shaun knows his stuff,” said Diorio, who like Torrente competed in this yesterday’s St. Petersburg Grand Prix in Southwest Florida. “And being able to support a fellow racer who owns a small and thriving business is another bonus.”
