Performance Boat Center Bringing Big Demo Fleet To Miami Boat Show

Though all relevant high-performance catamarans, V-bottom sportboats and center consoles are in the water during the annual Miami International Boat Show, which returns to its Miami Marine Stadium venue on Virginia Key next month, most are dock-locked. That means they are trapped in the maze of portable docks behind the land-based tent exhibits and can’t be run for demos.

But that isn’t an issue for Performance Boat Center, which has several slips—660 through 662—open to the waterway in its Miami Boat Show display. The full-service, Osage Beach, Mo.-headquartered dealership will have an array of demo boats available for rides during the event including a Wright Performance 420 sport catamaran powered by twin Mercury Racing 450R outboard engines and two Wright Performance 360 models, one with a pair of 450Rs and another powered by two 400R outboards.

On the center console side, the PBC team also will showcase a Sunsation 40 CC powered by triple 450Rs and a 32 CCX equipped with 400R mills.

While Performance Boat Center is a Cigarette Racing Team and MTI dealer, those builders have their own exhibits in Miami. But PBC will have dedicated representatives for those brands in its own display area, according to the company’s Brett Manire.

“We’ll have the whole team there, including Mindi Doller from Performance Boat Center of South Florida and Rusty Williams and Myrick Coil from our headquarters in Osage Beach,” said Manire, who currently is preparing for the Overland Park Boat Show, January 23-26, just outside Kansas City, Mo. “Once Overland Park is done, we clean up the boats and start moving them to Miami.”

On MTI side, Manire said a 57-foot center console—with five 450R outboards—sold by Performance Boat Center will be in the MTI exhibit. Performance Boat Center also ordered a Cigarette 59 Tirranna with six 450Rs for South Florida-based client that Manire had hoped might be finished for the show, but won’t be ready in time.

“A lot people are bringing a lot of great stuff to Miami,” said Manire. “I would imagine the show is going to be a big hit this year.”
