The DoublEdge Motorsports Skater catamaran will fly the Peters & May colors in the upcoming Qatar Cup in February.

Beckley runs a 30-foot Skater catamaran powered by twin 280-hp Mercury outboard engines. Stancombe campaigns a 36-foot Skater catamaran with twin stock 525 EFI engines from Mercury Racing.

Peppers Racing and I are proud to team up with Mr. Dave Holley of Peters & May Racing for this historic event,” said Stancombe, who has yet to reveal who will share the cockpit with him in Qatar next month. “We have been talking for years about partnering and I am happy to say we finally did. Peters & May have been a longtime supporter of powerboat racing. I am so happy to be flying their colors.”

Beckley agreed. “It’s a really cool deal for us,” he said. “With all that Peters & May has done and continues to do for powerboat racing, we’re proud to be part of it and we’re happy they took a chance with us.”

The addition of the DoublEdge and Peppers teams to the Peters & May stable continues the company’s support for powerboat racing, which began in 2010. In the U.S. the company will continue to sponsor the gbr-11 Unlimited hydroplane, which will mark the team’s fourth Peters & May sponsorship. Peters & May also will continue its support of up-and-coming Junior hydroplane competitor Jack Peterson, who is entering his second year of racing. In the U.K., the company is continuing its partnership with the father and son combination of Colin & Ben Jelf at Jelf Racing.

‘We started the P&M Racing program with the ambition to become the world’s ‘go to’ marine racing logistics company,” said David Holley, the chief executive officer of Peters & May. “It’s safe to say that goal has been achieved and we want to maintain that position. We realized quickly that by investing in the sport, we could both assist the growth and benefit from the business generated by that growth. There is great satisfaction in seeing the results of our support and the joy it brings to others.

“For us it is important to get a certain return on our investment through the marketing exposure and to see individuals, teams and racing series benefit not just financially but also through the quality of the services we provide,” he added. “This year will be exciting for the sport as a whole and we look forward to following all the events closely. The future is bright.”
