River Dave’s Place Hosting Concert at Desert Storm Street Party

River Dave’s Place, the West’s most popular and dominant online community and content site dedicated to high-performance powerboating, is going big once again during the Desert Storm Poker Run Street Party on Thursday, April 28, in Lake Havasu City, Ariz. Starting a 6 p.m., Little Town, a popular classic rock band in the area, will take the stage at the River Dave’s Place display on McCulloch Boulevard. Also slated to perform is rising country music star Matt Farris.

Both acts will be taking to an extravagant stage, according to Dave Johnson, the owner and founder of River Dave’s Place.

“The music will start at 6 p.m., but the show won’t fully come to life until the sun goes down,” Johnson said. “We have a giant stage with CO2 cannons and lasers that go up into the sky and pyro-technics and all kinds of stuff. And the same guy doing the stage for our street party also is handling it for our after-party (read the story) on Saturday night.

“Kicker Audio is also going to be with us this year,” he added. “They’re bring their new 29-foot Nordic with a (Mercury Racing) 565.”

To meet demand for River Dave’s Place clothing and accessories, Johnson said he tripled his order from last year. “We have four or five different shirts and these new ‘sweat-proof’ hats, which are basically Flex-Fit hats made from polyester, which doesn’t absorb water so you don’t get that ring. Out here in the desert, you need that. Most hats last about two weeks out here before you have to throw them away.”
