If the current schedule holds, Skater Powerboats‘ 478 full-cabin V-bottom will be transported to Greenville, N.C., next week for installation of its cabin and cockpit interior. The work will be handled by the noted go-fast powerboat interior design-and-build team of Gary Bridges and Paul Gallup.

“We’re in the process of getting everything set up so we can send the boat to North Carolina because full interiors like this one are not our specialty,” said Tony Cutsuries, the Douglas, Mich., custom high-performance catamaran and V-bottom builder’s national sales manager. “We’re installing deck hatches and the cabin door, and we’ve installed the transom assemblies. Our game plan is to ship the boat next week.”

Cutsuries estimated that the new 47-foot V-bottom will be in North Carolina for two months before it is returned to Skater for installation and rigging of its twin Mercury Racing 1100 engines and final finish work.

“All we’ll have to do when it comes back is drop in the motors and complete the rigging,” he said.
