Mystic is planning to unveil its new M3800 luxury center console at the 2017 West Palm Beach Boat Show.

With its debut still planned for the West Palm Beach International Boat Show in March 2017, the new Mystic Powerboats M3800 luxury center console is coming together on schedule, according to Scott Sjogren of Mystic Powerboat Sales. The hull plug is almost finished, as is the design of the 38-footer’s deck by John Cosker, the founder and owner of the DeLand, Fla., luxury center console and high-performance catamaran company.

“It’s a very exciting boat for us,” said Sjogren, who supplied a few pictures of the M3800 tooling in progress for this article. “It’s similar in characteristics to the M4200, only smaller. John changed the deadrise a little and the hull design is aggressive, but it’s still going to be the same excellent rough-water boat with lots of freeboard like the 42, a 10’6” beam and the same cabin in terms of size. It will be available with or without Mystic’s new-for-2017 recreational fishing package.”

As noted in a prior speedonthewater.com article, the M3800 will come standard with twin Mercury Marine Verado 350 outboard engines and will be offered with up to triple Mercury Racing 400R outboards. With a pair of 400-hp Verados, Cosker and Sjogren expect the boat to run 70 mph.

Shogren said the M3800 will be priced at $399,000 with standard Verado 350 power. He added that its public debut will be significantly different than that of its larger sibling, which arrived at the 2015 Miami International Boat Show as a prototype.

“It’s going to be a completely finished boat because so many of the components we’re using on the 38 are from the 42,” he said. “We’re also excited about another model we’ll be introducing, possibly in the fall of 2017.”
