Stephen Miles Design To Deliver ‘Lil’ Jet’ Next Week
During the 2018 Lake of the Ozarks Shootout last August, well-known performance-boat community member Burton Kirsten ordered an MTI 340X sport catamaran for his wife, Yvette. The Wentzville, Mo., high-performance catamaran and center console company built the hull and deck and—per the Michigan-based couple’s request—delivered it to Stephen Miles Design in Owensboro, Ky., where the renowned paint shop dressed the boat to match the Kirsten’s new 46-foot Outerlimits Offshore Powerboats catamaran called Jet. That spectacular creation debuted last month at the Miami International Boat Show.
Color-matched to Kirsten’s 46-foot Outerlimits catamaran, Lil’ Jet is scheduled to be delivered to MTI next week for interior installation and rigging.
Though it took a bit longer than company namesake Stephen Miles anticipated, the paintjob for the 34-footer the Kirstens aply named Lil’ Jet is one or two final details from completion and the boat will be delivered to MTI next week for interior installation and rigging of its Mercury Racing Verado 400R outboard engines.
“I’ll be personally delivering this one,” Miles said.
In addition to designing and applying the paintjobs for both catamaran, Miles designed the graphics for the hauler the Kirsten’s will use to pull the 46-footer to events around the country this season. His friend and colleague Dave McGary of DMC Graphics, also in located Owensboro, printed and applied the wrap for the truck.
“It’s awesome to have customers like Burton and Yvette,” Miles said. “They gave us the green light to go above and beyond the norm with paint and design.”
