Stephen Miles-Designed Speed On The Water Shirts On Sale During Miami Show

Created by renowned performance-boat graphic designer and paint man Stephen Miles, the second addition to the speedonthewater.com Artist Series of branded shirts will go on sale online during the opening day—Thursday, Feb. 15—of the 2018 Miami International Boat Show. Miles’ design was transferred to the shirts using a “dye sublimation” process, he explained, which makes the finished product’s graphics particularly crisp, vibrant and durable.

Designed by Stephen Miles, these shirts will be one of the hottest apparel tickets on sale during the Miami International Boat Show (click image to enlarge).

“The dye is sublimated onto the pattern on the shirt, then the shirt is sewn together,” said Miles, who founded the well-known go-fast boat paint shop that bears his name in Owensboro, Ky. “It even has Stephen Miles Design labeling color-printed on the inside.

For the material of the shirts, Miles opted for a breathable, dry-fit polyester that should be comfortable in hot weather.

“First and foremost, I wanted the speedonthewater shirts to be something someone would actually want to wear,” Miles said, then chuckled. “Speedonthewater has such a great logo and I didn’t want to detract from that. I didn’t want them to be overdone. I wanted them to look cool.”

Prices are $55 for shirts from sizes small to XXL.

Still on sale, Speedonthewater.com’s first Artist Series shirts were designed by Dean Loucks of The Artist Of Design, the famed performance-boat paint shop in Elkhart, Ind. As noted above, the Stephen Miles-designed shirts will go on sale Feb. 15.
