Storm 2020 Poker Run Dates Scheduled For Sept. 30-Oct. 4

In a Facebook live video on Saturday night, Christina Nichols of Phantom Productions announced the dates for the Storm 2020 Poker Run, which is combining the the organization’s normall fall event, the Monster Storm Poker Run in Lake Havasu City, Ariz., with its premier event, the late-April Desert Storm Poker Run also in Lake Havasu City that was postponed last week due to the COVID-19 pandemic. Nichols, who thanked everyone who reached out to her and her husband, Jimmy Nichols, with positive responses after the postponement decision was made, said the Storm 2020 event is scheduled for Wednesday, Sept. 30 to Sunday, Oct. 4.

“After soliciting feedback from sponsors and participants, we came to the consensus that the September 30 through October 4 dates worked best for the majority of the people,” Christina Nichols said. “Unfortunately we cancelled Desert Storm because our hands were tied, but the good news is we are taking everything you love about Desert Storm and moving it back to the fall. We’re going to follow the same schedule as Desert Storm, which means we’ll start on Wednesday with our Krusin’ for a Kause rides for individuals with special needs and the open house welcome party that evening and then host the Street Party Thursday, the poker run Friday and the shootout on Saturday. As always, we have Sunday as our weather day. And because we’re combining the two events, we’ll be doing a costume party on Saturday night for the awards like we always do at Monster Storm.”

Nichols appeared both relieved and excited in the live video, making sure to thank the event’s presenting sponsor, Kicker Audio, for continuing to support the event, along with dozens of other longtime sponsors. During the video one viewer asked what the plans were for the merchandise and Crane said they weren’t entirely sure yet, but that the event is going to be called Storm 2020 so they’ll have likely have that gear and maybe even both Desert Storm and Monster Storm apparel.

She added that her team is going to keep people informed with any additional news on the Storm Poker Runs Facebook page.
