Super Stock And Supercat Classes To Lead 28-Boat Key West Field
Though the final count is not yet complete, 28 teams currently are in Key West, Fla., for three days of racing—Wednesday, Friday and Sunday—under the Race World Offshore umbrella. Racing begins tomorrow at 10 a.m. and will be broadcast live on the Race World Offshore Facebook page.

At present, the 11 Super Stock-class teams registered are:

The eight Supercat teams currently registered to compete are:

The Supercat-class winner at the RWO Clearwater event last month, the WHM Motorsports team of Billy Mauff and Jay Muller returns to Key West to defend the world championship it earned in 2018 under the Super Boat International umbrella.
Three teams—CRC/Sunlight Supply, Freedom and Huski Chocolate—have signed up so far to compete in the Extreme ranks. Teams spread across other classes include Sheriff Lobo, Offshore Outlaw, Octane, Simmons Marine, Wix Filters, Speedster Powerboats and Los Muchachos.
Also worth noting:
• Though the Race World Offshore organizers originally planned to break with tradition and have the racers run clockwise on the course, the course direction this year is returning to its original counter-clockwise format.
• During this morning’s drivers meeting the Race World Offshore organizers announced they will produce a race in Orange Beach, Ala., next April in addition to the three events—Dunkirk, N.Y., Clearwater, Fla., and Key West—currently in its 2020 plans. The organization also reportedly is working on a 2020 event to be held on Georgia’s Lake Lanier.
• Race World Offshore reportedly is covering all Sea-Tow salvage expenses for competitors during its races in Key West. In past Key West events, those costs—more than $4,000 to right and tow a rolled boat for example—have been borne by the racers.
